"Tri-State Retreat!"
The 1999 adult education Tri-State Retreat is September 24-26 at Camp Arnot south of Ithaca. Here is a wonderful opportunity to meet adult education faculty/grad. students from other colleges. We expect participants from Cornell, Elmira, Fordham, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Penn State, and Rutgers. Other years we have even had participants from Buffalo State, Columbia (Teachers College), and Temple.
We have a good time, you learn lots, there is plenty of relaxation, and as one of last year’s Elmira attendees, Joan Kelley, noted, "it was a great experience." More information is below. Volunteer to help with the program. Your creative ideas are welcome. Let’s have a strong Elmira College presence. (No classes are scheduled that weekend.)

Registration
To register, send an email to rhiemstra@elmira.edu indicating whether you are planning to attend the entire retreat or, if portions of it, which days. Include your preferences on tenting or a cabin and your address. A map and form will be mailed to you as soon as they are available. Please consider volunteering to help with the program. If you have ideas on some neat activity, education game, or even educational experience, please let Roger know. In the past we have had just about every kind of experience you can imagine. Usually there is some sort of educational, training, or learning focus and often "adult education" as a topic is included, but it is not necessary. Last year Elmira College did an activity Roger developed around the Six Degrees of Keven Bacon that you might want to use in your own training. Two years ago Roger and some students conducted a humorous session on how to design web pages. Thus, your ideas are certainly welcome.
