Bio/historical Note
Born in Livingston, Montana, son of Albert Dixon and Marian (Straton) K. Married Hulda Elisabet Fortell on August 20, 1935. Children: Eric Stuart and Elisabeth Knowles Hartl. Died at the age of 84 at his home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Served on the faculty in Education at N. Carolina State University, and Boston University. Has authored and co-authored over 18 books and 230 articles. Recipient of the Delbert-Clerk Award, 1967. National Training Labs Institute for Applied Behavioral Science Fellow, 1969.
