Born in Howard Lake, MN.  Married to Doris J., two children.  Encouraged adult education leaders to put more of their efforts into research and theory building.  Identified major concepts from sociology, social psychology, psychology, administration, and history and charted their relationship to the graduate curriculum of adult education and research needs of the field.  Currently, he and Doris run AAABE Associates out of their home in Grand Marais, MN, an organization devoted to helping promote growth throughout the life span.  They deal especially with people who have retired.
